Texas alt-rock vets Toadies bring The Charmer Tour to The Queen, showcasing their eighth LP — one of the last recordings by Steve Albini. Cut live in the studio, The Charmer bottles their raw, Southern-tinged grunge with zero polish and all guts.
Formed in 1989, Toadies broke big with Rubberneck and “Possum Kingdom.” Frontman Vaden Todd Lewis calls the new record the most defiantly “Toadies” Toadies album yet — personal, visceral, and built from pandemic-era isolation. Expect classics like “Tyler,” “I Burn,” “Away,” and “Possum Kingdom” alongside new tracks like “The Charmer.”
Support from Chicago alt-rock two-piece Local H — yes, “Bound for the Floor” — and Philly’s Olive Vox.
If you like your rock loud, uneasy, and cathartic, this is your Sunday night.
